May 26, 2007
A couple of years in the planning, but it was well worth it. It took place at the Scottish Estates in Laurelville, on May 26, 2007, my birthday and Memorial Day. Despite the 60% chance of rain and damaging thunderstorms that surrounded the area, we did not have a single drop of rain. Our wedding was featured on the cover of an international publication which is devoted to equine and the people who love them. The carriage driver and his crew traveled from the facility Locust Creek Mules located in Mayslick, Kentucky to help make the day possible.
The Poem for our Wedding Progam
My church is still the great outdoors
My song is nature’s sound
The sky is my cathedral
And my altar is the ground.
God must be fond of mavericks
Because He made them wild and free.
So I know He’s watching over
Girls and boys like me.
We thank you each and every one
For joining us this day
You’ve added to our happiness
In a very special way
And as the years shall come and go
Our dreams will give us pleasure
And bring you back to us again
In memories to treasure.
My song is nature’s sound
The sky is my cathedral
And my altar is the ground.
God must be fond of mavericks
Because He made them wild and free.
So I know He’s watching over
Girls and boys like me.
We thank you each and every one
For joining us this day
You’ve added to our happiness
In a very special way
And as the years shall come and go
Our dreams will give us pleasure
And bring you back to us again
In memories to treasure.

The Mules in Attendance

The Scottish traditional floating layer cake with 6 layers, well, almost 6
The cake was to be a scottish traditional floating cake, set up with 6 layers in an oval staircase fashion...sadly, a worker tried to scoot the table with my cake on it, and we lost a layer as it made a plumet to the ground during the scoot. Although the set up and everything was changed last minute and not entirely to my liking, the cake itself tasted great!
The Celtic Harpist from Scotland
The musician that played at our wedding is Celtic Harpist Christine Fraser Ramsey, who is a native of Scotland.
